Wow, doesn't it feel like ages ago that we started talking about starting the village fete, picking dates and trying to get our heads around what we actually had to do. Now the day is fast approaching!
A week on Saturday (30th June for those of you who may have forgotten) is the AMAZING Guiting Power Village Fete. If you haven't heard about it or are new to the blog.....then it will be a Cotswold event NOT to be missed!
The day will kick off at 12pm with the famous Chef from Masterchef and Wahaca fame, Thomasina Miers, opening the fete.
Then all the fun can commence......
We are taking entries for the children's craft competition, with classes that include Garden on a plate for those of you who can remember many years ago at Guiting Fete! If you would like a schedule/entry form please email us guitingpowerfete@gmail.com
There will also be a children's fancy dress competition which will take place in the main arena! No one needs an excuse to dress up....
Also, for the children we have face painting, fancy dress, a mini big wheel, candy floss, and lovely games including a treasure hunt, skittles to name but a few!
For those competitive adults there will be Skittles, Aunt Sally, Coconut Shy for you all to compete against each other!
The day would not be complete without a fortune teller and Guiting Power's very own Mystic Meg! Why not see what your future holds?
Then to top off all the fun, why not treat yourself at one of our many, many stalls......There are stalls selling books, gifts, hand bags, clothes, jewellery, accessories, food, treats, bird boxes, dog wear, photos, cards, sweets, candles, cooking equipment, beauty products, children's clothes as well as much much more!
Then to replenish your energy why not try out a steak sandwich or burger from locally reared beef, a homemade pie, jacket potatoes or a traditional afternoon tea!?
If you would rather have an alcoholic drink, then get to the bar where there will be an array of drinks (not all alcoholic) on offer as well as ice creams to top off the afternoon!
In the lead up to the fete and on the day we will be selling raffle tickets! The prizes available are truly amazing and you really shouldn't miss out! Please see the post before for a more comprehensive list of prizes. We have also just received a voucher for a cookery course at Thyme at Southrop which is a fantastic cookery school and would make a fantastic day out!
In the run up to the fete I will be blogging our updates more often so please look out for them! The signs are up, you wont miss them, get the date in your diary and come along to Guiting Power Fete - a day of fun and frolics in the Countryside and one not to be missed!
We look forward to seeing you there

Guiting Power Village Fete 2012
Hi Everyone
Welcome to the Blog for Guiting Power Village Fete!
This blog really is to keep you all updated on our progress and the run up to the fete. This year sees the return of the traditional Village fete and with a wonderful team of helpers we are determined to make it a great day for everyone!
The fete will be held at the Village Hall and on the field on 30th June 2012 between 12-4pm. The idea of a slightly earlier fete is to allow you to enjoy a wonderful BBQ, delicious lunches and the bar over the lunchtime period! It will also give you plenty of time to look at all the stalls and trade stands, buy a few plants, play a few games and watch your children have a thoroughly enjoyable day!
This is one village fete not to be missed and I suggest you tell all your friends and family about it! Entry is FREE so what more can you ask! Come along and enjoy yourselves with us!
If you or anyone you know would be interested in a trade stand or helping out with anything please get in touch with Caroline Smith by email on Caralaz19@yahoo.co.uk or Verity Edwards-Flaherty by email on beautyathome1@hotmail.co.uk
We look forward to seeing you on 30th June!
